The (discrete) Gaussian free field (dGFF) on a transient graph, simply put, is the random Gaussian field with covariance given through Green’s function of the random walk on that graph. It is in many aspects a sister model to random interlacements with many similarities (and a few differences as well). In this lecture we will explore various connections of these two models, including the isomorphism theorem, which will give many applications to the study of both models.
