Abstract:
The source localization and distance inference of gravitational waves (GWs) are two crucial factors for GW standard sirens as precise probes of cosmology, astrophysics, and fundamental physics. In this talk, I will first introduce the concept of GW standard sirens and their limits as cosmological probes. Then I will introduce our recent work on the parameter estimation of GWs emitted by the eccentric compact binaries. We focus on the improvements of source localization and distance inference of dark sirens from eccentricity. Finally, the implications of eccentricity for dark sirens on cosmology will be discussed.
