An unfitted interface penalty finite element method is proposed for the interface problems, in which Nitsche's method together with the ideas of merging elements and harmonic weighing fluxes are used, partly DG increase the flexibility of the method. The error estimates do not depend on the radio of the discontinuous coefficients. Numerical examples are also given to confirm the theoretical results. This is a joint work with Haijun Wu and Juan Han.
