Abstract:
In quantum information theory, the error exponents characterize the best rate of exponential convergence of the error towards 0 or 1, as the number of copies of the underlying resources increases. In this talk, I will report our recent results on the exact error exponents of several quantum information tasks, including quantum privacy amplification, quantum information decoupling, quantum channel simulation, and entanglement-assisted communication. These results are given in terms of the Sandwiched Rényi Divergence and its induced quantum information quantities. Our work has provided the sandwiched Rényi divergence with new types of operational interpretations. In particular, we have found the precise operational meaning for the sandwiched Rényi divergence of order from 1/2 to 1.
