Abstract: The communication regulation between macrophages and hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) is a key process in regulating the progression of liver fibrosis, and it serves as the biological basis for the multi-target regulatory effects of traditional Chinese medicine. Research has shown that the polarization and activation of inflammatory macrophages (M1 type) leading to abnormal deposition of extracellular matrix by HSCs is a core process in liver fibrosis, with the PDGF/PDGFR pathway playing a significant role in this process. However, the current model of communication regulation between M1 macrophages and HSC cells mediated by the PDGF pathway remains unclear. Single-cell genomics and artificial intelligence mathematical models provide powerful biological data and methodological support for elucidating this regulatory process.
